I am an abstract expressionist artist.

I live and work in Manchester, UK.

At the heart of it, my paintings are about me and maybe a bit about all of us.

I've got two main ways I like to paint, and they show the two sides of who I am.

One way I paint is fast and intense. Think of it like a splash of feelings onto the canvas. I lay the canvas flat on a table, drop paint on it, and then use a cloth to scrub it rapidly. It's messy, spontaneous, and I put my all into it. I believe these paintings capture frustrations, passions, and intense feelings.

The other way I paint is much more structured. These pieces are geometrical, ordered, with muted colours and calmness. I use a brush for these and paint them vertically on a wall. They're influenced by the journeys and pathways through cities, especially at night, and minimalist artists like Mondrian.

More and more, my paintings are created on a one-metre square canvas. I chose this size because it ties all the work together, like accepting it's all a part of who I am.

We all have these sides in different proportions or abilities to control: the wild, emotional, calm, and logical. Through my paintings, I'm just trying to figure out my balance between the two.
